Where do sessions take place?

Photoshoots can take place outdoors, in your home, at a business, in a hotel, or anywhere we have permission to shoot! My studio is JUST an option! My studio is located in downtown Calgary. I can also provide you with a list of other studio options in and out of Calgary!

What does the studio look like? What sets are available in your home studio?

The Red Room, Neon Foil, Spotlight, Plain Backdrops, as well as custom builds. Majority of sessions take place here, no matter the set! My studio is located in a 1912 building, with 11ft ceilings, white floors, and white walls. See more here.​

Is there a pole in your studio?

My studio cannot accomodate my travel pole, but I can set my travel pole up in any other space, or outdoors.

SESSION STYLES

​

If I have a concept in mind, can we make it come to life?

I want to make your dreams come true. Whatever that looks like to you, I will do my best to execute it! Some concepts may require additional fees for props, building, prep and cleaning.

 

Can I do a set change during one session?

Yes! For example, we can do a neon foil set, followed by the red room! Set changes must be pre-booked.

 

Can I shoot Polaroids, video and/or photo in the same booking?

Yes! You can book a photoshoot with any add ons!

NUDITY AND EROTIC THEMES

 

How nude will I be photographed?

You control the level of nudity she shows during the Boudoir Photography Session. You will not do anything you are uncomfortable with and can speak up at the time if uncomfortable with a certain level of nudity or a pose. All nudity will be discussed prior to shooting.

How 'far' can I go with sexual poses and erotic concepts?

I do allow full nudity, erotic poses, and pornographic/erotic imagery. Everything MUST be discussed prior to shooting.​

EDITING

​

Can you edit out my tan lines, tattoos, etc?

Yes. An extra fee of $10 per image applies for additional editing work, including but not limited to, tan lines (including those from outdoor tanning, tanning beds and spray tans), tattoo removal, and other additional requests made by the client. 

 

Will you make me look thinner/different?

No. I will not take requests to alter body parts/sizes, and will only edit things like blemishes, colour correcting, bruises, and other items that could also be altered with just makeup. I will not do any editing to make your body appear a different shape or size.

 

IMAGES, USE AND PRIVACY

What is a proof gallery vs. final images?

Proof images are unedited images from your session, where you can view images for selection or purchasing. These images have slight lighting touch ups and come cropping, but have no retouching on blemishes or bruises. Final images are whatever images you selected from your proof gallery to be fully edited.

When will I see my proof photos?

I will provide an online proof gallery to your email within 7 days of the session date. You  then have 7 DAYS to submit photo choices. Once images are selected, I will deliver final images within 14 days of the selection date.

 

When will my printed products/album be ready?

After the final images are delivered, the album is created. The expected production time between final image delivery date and product (albums and printed items) delivery is up to 4 weeks.

 

Can I see RAW or unedited images?

I will not provide unedited images for any reason. All images are edited to my standards, and best reflect my work. They are not for sale or viewing.

Will my images remain private?

By default, YES! Your images are at your discretion to share, and we understand that some clients may have more concerns when images are shared. You receive a form on the day you book, where you fill out your preferences. ​​​You control of which images are shared, where they're posted, or if they can even be posted at all. You can also choose to remain faceless, or have them fully posted! I ONLY share the final images that show up in your final gallery. Your proof images will only be stored for your own viewing should you need them at a later date, and will never be used online without first asking you. Any images shared by me have been explicitly consented to.

Do I own the copyright to my images?

No! You have personal use rights of your images only. Commercial use of these photos is prohibited. These images are for personal use only, and may be reproduced for the purpose of sharing with friends and family. The photographs produced by Studio NOVA are protected by Federal Copyright Law (all rights reserved) and may not be reproduced in any manner without studio explicit written permission. It is a breach of this contract to reproduce the images in any form unless rights were purchased within the package for those images. In the event that these photos will be published, sold for profit or used within marketing materials, the client must obtain written permission from -- and compensate me prior to the release. An additional contract will be needed at that time.

What if I am a sex worker or an entertainer and want to use images for promotional purposes.

The ONLY exception to Commercial is that adult industry workers may use images for online ads, printed magnets, posters, lighters and stickers to be sold or given out at adult clubs and adult entertainment establishments. ​Monetary gain may ONLY be acquired from the sharing or sale of the images on adult content based platforms such as Frisk, Only Fans, etc for posts and PPV messages.

Can I print images through Studio NOVA?

If you would like to purchase additional products or prints, these products will be offered when you view your proof gallery. Prices sent with the proof gallery are guaranteed for 30 days. 

 

How long will you keep my photos?

You must back up the digital images once received.I only guarantee a one year back up of images and am not responsible for the storage of the images after one year.

Can I edit my own images?

No! It is in breach of copyright law to edit these images in any way, this includes but is not limited to popular social media filters and special effects. No alterations, including but not limited to skin retouching, cropping, face-tuning, colour changes, filters from apps, and any other changes may not be applied to final images. Images are to remain unaltered by the client at all times.

 

Can I share my own photos online?

Yes! The client reserves the right to post purchased images on social networking sites such as Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. Please tag or credit me.

POSING, ACCOMODATIONS & CLIENTS

 

How old do I have to be?

You must be legal age (18+) to participate in a Boudoir Photography Session.

Do you provide outfits?

Clients are responsible for providing personal lingerie to be worn. I only provide a small amount of optional pieces.m I have a limited Client Closet available for client use. The client closet is limited in sizes, colors and styles. I do not guarantee that any one item will be available for use on clients session day.

What if I have mobility issues or a disability that may limit posing?

Simply let me know prior to shooting so I can modify poses. 

​

How do you make sure I don’t look awkward?

I clearly communicate instructions, with simple and concise language that anyone can understand and follow. More than that, I don't just tell, I show, performing the pose for you while explaining it, ensuring that nothing is lost in translation, and making minor adjustments as needed. This way, the client feels confident that the image being created shows up as best as possible, and remains worry free about what they may look like. Guided posing eliminates any fear that one might not be capturing their best angles on camera due to anxiety, inexperience, or anything in between.

 

Do I need modelling/photoshoot experience?

No! I am here to pose you like a pro!

​Are you LGBTQ+ friendly?

As a queer woman myself, hell yeah. Many of my clients/couples identify as LGBTQ+!

​

Do I have experience posing and working with a range of body types?

Yes, and no session will differ due to your body type. All clients are shot with the same level of care, with the exception of anything the client requests to include or not include. You are always welcome to discuss sensitive areas prior to your session. As my client, you are in control of anything you don't find flattering or appealing, but I do encourage you to trust my eye! I promise you I will find your best angles!

​Can my friend/partner come with me?

Please do not bring additional people to your session without prior discussion! I am more than happy to accommodate you if you feel more comfortable bringing someone.

BOOKINGS

​

How do I secure a booking?

Contact me to secure a date, then fill out the online booking form. Once your session  has been confirmed by paying the deposit online, you will receive confirmation via email. If on a payment plan, your email confirmation will provide you details. Your confirmation will have a Boudoir Guide attached for info on how to prepare and what to expect during your session. You will be sent an invoice and receipt for all payments made, so you always know what you owe. A signed contract and retainer deposit (+GST) are required to book the boudoir session. The booking deposit is due at booking and is required to hold the date and time. The deposit goes towards your session total.

Can I add services after I book, prior to my session?

Yes! You may add additional items at any time subject to current pricing, so long as my schedule allows for any additional time needed!

PAYMENTS

 

When is payment due?

The remainder of the amount is due 24 hours prior to the scheduled session.

 

​Can I pay in instalments?

You can make payments towards your total via e-transfer at any time. Your total must be paid 24hrs prior to the session, but you may decide how many payments to make and how often you'd like to make them!

CANCELLATION, LATE ARRIVALS & RESCHEDULING

​

What if I cancel my booked session?

Any cancellation must be in writing.  No monetary reimbursement will be provided (deposit, GST, and processing fee will NOT be refunded). Your non-refundable deposit will not roll over to a rescheduled date. Cancellation will result in the client forfeiting all monies paid. Case by case exceptions may be made at my discretion. Any additional amount paid towards the session will be kept as credit towards a new session date, and this credit must be used within 6 months of the cancellation date. In the event of a cancellation within 6 days of their session, that the initial contract and retainer become void and you are subject to the most current pricing options if you chose to rebook the date. 

 

What if there is poor weather for my outdoor session?

You are given the option to reschedule with no fee. If rescheduling is not possible, any amount paid towards the session will be kept as credit towards a new session date, and this credit must be used within 6 months of the original session date. Your same package, image amount and price will remain the same. If we are unable to do an outdoor session, you can book a studio session for the same rate instead.

What if the photographer needs to cancel or reschedule the session?

In the event that I cancel the session for any reason, including but not limited to; medical emergency, family emergency, inclement weather, road closures, natural disaster, closure of venue, or similar catastrophe, you are given the option to reschedule with no fee. I will refund deposits, as well as any payments made if this is not possible. 

 

What if I reschedule my session?

If you request to re Should you request to reschedule the session within 6 days of the session, you will be required to pay a new deposit to reschedule.

 

What if I reschedule a sale session that only pertains to specific dates?

A promotion that has a limited date range means that any reschedules outside of that date range are subject to regular pricing. 

 

What if I am going to be late?

Clients are urged to adhere to scheduled session times, as delays may impact subsequent appointments. The session will start at the scheduled start time even if you are tardy or unprepared. The session end time will remain the same. If additional time is needed, you will have the option to purchase based off the online pricing menu for additional time. If you are more than 15 minutes late for the appointment, a new appointment will need to be scheduled, with a new deposit. Other payments made towards the session will be kept as credit towards a new session date within 6 months.
