About Queen Nova

From a 13, I was drawn to movement and storytelling. Ballet and musical theatre were my first loves, giving me an early foundation in technique, presence, and stagecraft. Performing in my first corset during a high school production of Guys and Dolls, something sparked within me. Not only did I love performing, I also adored costume making and set design, which later led me to my careers in life; photography, dancing and costume design. I graduated with a crazy amount of extra high-school credits, all from sewing and theatre, even being gifted a sewing machine from my high school. in 2016, I produced a burlesque and fashion show, donating proceeds to female cancer patients in my local area. This event helped me to win the Terrera Earth Award, specifically for my use of second hand materials in clothing design.

Proudly serving the sex work community as a boudoir photographer for a decade, I was inspired to step into my own spotlight by becoming a strip club and burlesque dancer in 2022. Mixing my knowledge of pin-up and boudoir modelling, pole dance, and love of musical theatre, my movements are bold and sensual, with an intoxicating mix of splits, tricks, and bits that never fail to bring audiences to their feet (or, knees). Above all, I perform to connect. Whether I'm teasing with a slow strip, stunning with gravity-defying pole tricks, or dazzling with a hand-made, rhinestone-adorned costume, I invite audiences into my world, one where glamour and sexuality are celebrated as one. Burlesque is an art form that has always existed at the intersection of all genres of sex workers who blurred the line between work, entertainment and erotic expression. I proudly acknowledge that my work on stage today is possible because of the creativity, resilience, and artistry of those who came before me.

Just six months after my first pole class, I competed at PSO Canada East in Toronto (October 2022), taking home first place in Exotic Pole Level 2. Since then, I have performed with Burlesque Burn, Twisted Element, Mount Royal University, The Cabaret Company, and at a wide range of private and corporate events in Alberta and BC. Each performance showcases not only my athleticism and charisma but also my craftsmanship. I create my own costumes, making every act uniquely mine from concept to execution.

Being a dancer AND a costumer gives me real life perspective on execution, design, reveals and how to have things made SPECIFICALLY for showgirls.

DESIGN OWNERSHIP POLICY

All costume concepts, sketches, and design visuals shared by Queen Nova, including those posted on social media, websites, or shown in messages/during consultations, are the intellectual property of the designer and remain available for general use unless otherwise stated in writing.

Public Design Availability

My design process operates similarly to a tattoo flash sheet system. This means:

  • All posted designs are considered open designs

  • They are available for any client to purchase or customize

  • Seeing, discussing, or inquiring about a design does not reserve or claim ownership of that design

Clients are welcome to request modifications such as fabric, color, sizing, embellishments, or styling adjustments. Any modifications made to a design at a client’s request will also remain available for purchase by other customers unless that design has been exclusively purchased with a deposit. The underlying concept and any adapted versions of that concept are not exclusive unless explicitly secured.

No Automatic Exclusivity

Viewing, discussing, or requesting changes to a design does not make it exclusive.

A design is only considered reserved or exclusive when:

  • A deposit has been received

  • A custom order agreement has been confirmed in writing

Until that point, designs may continue to be offered and sold to other clients.

Design Inspiration & Third-Party Use

Clients may not claim ownership, authorship, or exclusive origin of any design based on:

  • Viewing it online

  • Requesting colour, embellishment, fabric or customization changes

  • Using third-party tools, A.I. or software to visualize variations of the design

All creative direction, sketches, and final concepts remain the property of Queen Nova, regardless of client interaction or interpretation.

Deposits & Reservation Policy

A design is only removed from public availability and reserved for a single client once a non-refundable deposit has been received. At that point:

  • The design will be marked as “reserved” or “sold”

  • No additional clients will be able to commission the same design in its original form

Respect for Creative Work

I welcome collaboration and customization, and value your input deeply. However, all final design decisions, artistic direction, and intellectual property remain with the designer unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.
