As of summer 2023, I've been working in the beauty and boudoir industry for 8 years. Starting as a makeup artist in 2015, my interest for photography grew fast. Within my first year in business, I was offering paid photoshoots to booked clients, and eventually, went full time, opened a studio, and started paying my bills with boudoir photography.
I have a background working in branding and marketing photography, as well as website and social media management. These skill allow me to teach more than just boudoir, but all styles of photography.
Over this time, I've had a number of "if only I'd known this years ago" moments. From creating my first website to increasing my pricing, there are so many things I wish I had done differently when I was starting my business. Fortunately for you, I now offer mentorship programs to other photographers and business owners.
While studying for my Bachelors of Applied Arts, I learned a lot of things about the marketing and design world. I apply all of these skills to my life as a business owner and photographer!

Basic Photography Skills & Camera Settings for portraits, landscapes and more! Our day will bounce between watching demos, hands on assignments, quizzes and real life photography application using your own camera.
Perfect for the absolute beginner, or even a business owner in need of regular photographic content! Take these skills and later apply them to your specific photography interests!
Whether your interest is in shooting people, places or things, you'll leave with a grasp on how to use your own camera, adjusting the settings to get the look and light you want!

CLIENT COMMUNICATIONS
We go over these topics:
-Creating easier ways to answer questions without wasting time answering the same questions
-Booking processes, policies and ensuring clients understand your guidelines/rules/expectations
-Ensuring your clients are prepared to shoot, avoiding those "I should have told you to....before you came" moments
-How to pick up on client 'red flags' and address them before they're an issue, such as expectations you cant meet
BUSINESS BEHIND THE SCENES
We go over these topics:

SHOOTING A CLIENT
We book a model for you, and use this time to actively show you tips and tricks on how to:
-Light your set or work with natural light
-Ensure client safety and comfort
-Consult client on outfits/styling
-Pose (face and body) and relax your client so they don't appear tense in photos
-Talk you your client about/during their session
POST-PRODUCTION PROCESS
We sit at our computers, and go through the process of:
-Culling client image using programs
-Creating proof galleries vs fully editing images
-Sending client galleries easily
-Editing and retouching final images
-Ways of encouraging clients to come back or purchase more images than they originally booked
